What Benefits Are You Offering in 2020?

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…  open enrollment season! As we’ve been reviewing and renewing our own benefit offerings at FlemingMartin (much simpler at a small firm like ours), we’ve been reflecting on the importance of benefit packages to executive recruiting for our clients. Over the last few years, we’ve helped many clients hire the right executives to lead key functions within the Human Resources department (Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, HRBPs, etc.). We asked our network of CHROs and Total Rewards executives to give us their thoughts on top trending employee benefits for 2020.

What trends are you seeing in benefits? What do employees consider valuable when it comes to a benefits package and how is your company addressing those benefit trends?

“Companies are more worried than ever about wellness. There’s more stress than ever; anxiety, depression and burnout are a concern. This past year, our company implemented company paid ClassPass fitness classes. In 2020, we’ll be taking it a step further with an online mindfulness tool. Stay tuned!”

“A popular perk with many young workers is offering tools to help employees pay back and pay off their student debt.”

“If Companies don’t have unlimited vacation that is something to look at. It reduces the payout liability when employees leave the organization. Of course, there are pros and cons to this benefit; however, it also helps organizations to attract and retain employees.”

“My favorite benefit is the education perk we offer. We want to help our employee’s development, whether that’s online or at a university. Our company even helps finance their education. We want to help our team develop; to live and work for their futures.”
